Our Story
A Legacy of Faith & Mission
Our church has a rich history rooted in the EXODUS MOVEMENT, a major evangelistic mission that brought the Gospel to the Northeastern United States.
The EXODUS MOVEMENT
The Garretson Road Church of Christ was founded as part of a major evangelistic mission known as the EXODUS MOVEMENT that first originated in 1964 in Midland, Texas. The movement was intended to spread the Good News of Christ in the Northeastern region of the United States.
As the EXODUS MOVEMENT progressed, it gained nationwide attention in the media, being featured in prominent publications like Newsweek (July 4th, 1966) and Time Magazine (January 20th, 1967).
The Exodus/NJ plan, like its predecessors, was very well organized in its mission and goal to establish churches throughout New Jersey, bringing the message of Christ to communities that needed to hear the Gospel.

Our Journey Through Time
1964
The EXODUS MOVEMENT Begins
The movement originated in Midland, Texas, with the mission to spread the Good News of Christ in the Northeastern region of the United States.
1966-1967
National Recognition
